Refurbishment and roof extension to two beautiful apartments. The work involved adding an additional storey to the building using a steel frame with timber infill and oak cladding, cutting through a 300mm reinforced concrete slab to create stairwells, extending the lift shaft up a floor as well as preparing the shaft for Kone (lift manufacturer) to install a new lift.

For this refurbishment our client wanted to blend the history of this Victorian warehouse with an ultra modern finish, to achieve this we exposed brick and steelwork within the living room to create a feature wall for artwork  yet in the kitchen we specified fully integrated gloss black units with a stainless steel countertop and blue led’s  recessed into the wall units, to bring the modern feel into this historic building.

The instruction at the beginning of this job was to maximise space, it required inventive building  techniques such as recessing the bed into the built in wardrobe space creating an extra half metre of walking area within the bedroom and installing a pivoting shower door in the restroom  to give a spacious feel to a tight room.
